The Cherry Hills branch is one of 18 which serve the citizens of New Mexico’s largest city and most populated county. There are 13 employees, including 2.5 librarians and a legion of wonderful volunteers. It is located in the northeast heights and one of four branches which are open seven days a week. New Mexico is one of the poorest states in the nation and Albuquerque struggles with many of the issues facing other metropolitan cities, including high rates of violence, vehicle fatalities, and an aging and shrinking population.
