Building Resilience, A Pre-Application Webinar for Resilient Communities: Libraries Respond to Climate Change

July 28, 2020
Short Title
Building Resilience, A Pre-Application Webinar for Resilient Communities: Libraries Respond to Climate Change
Summary

Join us for this free webinar to learn how you can be part of Resilient Communities: Libraries Respond to Climate Change, an ALA initiative that will help libraries engage their communities in programs and conversations that address the climate crisis.

Description

In this webinar, you will learn how to submit a competitive grant application for Resilient Communities: Libraries Respond to Climate Change and consider programming ideas you can use to build resilience starting right now or to create a grant application.

You will also meet the project advisors, a team of four experienced librarians dedicated to building more resilient communities. Advisors are members of ALA’s Sustainability Round Table, a professional forum for ALA members to exchange ideas and opportunities regarding sustainability in order to move toward a more equitable, healthy and economically just society.

Through Resilient Communities, 25 public and academic libraries will receive:

  • Screening access for five documentaries
  • $1,000 grants for diverse local programs
  • Professional development and networking opportunities

A Resilient Communities Programming Guide, to be published this fall, will also be available to ALL libraries to support successful and creative implementation and evaluation. (To be notified when the Programming Guide is available, sign up for the Programming Librarian newsletter.)

Applications for Resilient Communities are invited through September 10, 2020. Learn how to apply.
