The Gretna Public Library is located in Nebraska’s fastest growing city, and serves a “legal” population of nearly 5,000 residents. However, the library’s service area size includes the 19,409 residents in the school district. 

The library’s eight-member staff has had to think of new and creative ways to meet the needs of the Gretna community. Quality programs for all ages and a wide variety of circulation materials contribute to the library's continued success. Not until space and staffing issues are resolved will the Gretna community experience the true potential of what its library can do.
