St. Louis County Library District (SLCL) consists of a headquarters and nineteen (19) branch locations throughout St. Louis County. The library employs over 700 employees and has an annual budget of over $51 million.
SLCL serves a population of approximately 860,000 within an area of 467 square miles. St. Louis County is the largest county in Missouri and contains nearly a fifth of the state’s population. In addition to 24 school districts, St. Louis County consists of 91 municipalities and an unincorporated area, which contains a third of the county’s population and a third of its area.
