The Ypsilanti District Library (YDL) is located in southeast Michigan, between Ann Arbor and Detroit. The library serves the City of Ypsilanti, Ypsilanti Township, and Superior Township, with a building located in each municipality as well as a Bookmobile. YDL’s service area spans urban, suburban, and rural areas and is very diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, education levels, and income. Though diverse, we serve the least affluent part of the county, with many residents living in poverty. The library is a lifeline for many and a hub for diverse groups to gather and exchange ideas.
