The Palms-Rancho Park Branch Library is located near West Los Angeles and serves the neighborhoods of Castle Heights, Cheviot Hills, Palms, and Rancho Park – one of 73 locations that comprise the citywide system. A recipient of the nation’s highest honor for library service —the National Medal from the Institute of Museum and Library Services — the Los Angeles Public Library serves the largest and most diverse urban population of any library in the nation.

In the community of Palms-Rancho Park, the library’s service area includes four public and six private elementary schools as well as several preschools. These primary schools, established as the local feeders for the three public and three private middle schools in the area, create the opportunity for a partnership with the library to support the readiness of families with children in the transition to secondary schooling.
