Gail Borden Public Library stands as an impressive building to view, day or night, from its location at one of the major gateways to a revitalized downtown Elgin. Our library is among the largest districts in the state of Illinois and holds over 1,500 programs that 66,000 people attend annually. The library district serves most of Elgin, parts of South Elgin, Bartlett, Streamwood, Hoffman Estates and unincorporated areas in more than a 65-square-mile area.
