Established in 1886, the Laramie County Library System is the oldest continually operating county library system in the United States. The building in which the library resides has just had its ten year birthday. As a center for community activities the library hosts concerts, authors, book discussions and film series, and hands-on workshops on a variety of subjects including the sciences, art, music and writing. The library also hosts an array of exhibitions. Our community is a mix of blue and white collar, serving state’s government and legislators as well as oil refinery workers, and an air force base.
