South Brunswick Public Library is a stand-alone suburban library that serves a population of approximately 44,000 residents with widely diverse backgrounds, socio-economic conditions and ethnicities. The library is a member of an automation consortium serving several counties. The library staff of 50, with 20 full and part-time professional librarians, serves upwards of 18,500 cardholders and offers over 1,400 library provided classes, seminars and workshops to all ages annually. It is challenging to determine the needs and interests of such a diverse population in this community.
