Skokie Public Library serves the Village of Skokie, Illinois, a village of 65,000 just north of Chicago. Upwards of 50 youth programs are offered each month for children grades 5 and under and their families; these youth programs are created and offered through collaboration between multiple departments, including Youth Services, Learning Experiences, and Community Engagement. Skokie was a 2008 recipient of the National Medal for Museum and Library Services, and the library was a 2014 Urban Libraries Council Top Innovator for Organizational Change and Strategic Management.
